Dei Fratelli Sauces

Thanks to Dei Fratelli for sending me a generous sample of their sauces, tomatoes and salsas. In addition to these, they also sell juices and soups. As we all know, tomatoes are a healthy fruit (not vegetable). They contain loys of vitamin C, providing 40 percent (from 15-30% per serving depending upon the product) of your daily value. They also contain a healthy portion of your daily value of vitamin A, potassium and iron.

The red pigment in tomatoes is called lycopene. Research suggests that lycopene acts as an antioxidant and can help people stay active even in old age and more. In fact, recent studies conducted by Harvard researchers have suggested that lycopene can even help prevent cancer. The study discovered that men who consumed 10 servings of tomato sauce a week (or the equivalent of 10 slices of pizza) can cut the risk of developing prostate cancer by a formidable 45 percent!
